Description
For my final 3d project in Art Fundamentals (2004), I chose to do a soapstone carving.
I think the name 'Vixen' is appropriate, and I'm surprised and happy at how my first soapstone carving came out.
The second shot down in the pic is the best angle because that's the angle I drew the original design from. Also the 'high-heel' used to extend to the ground but broke off.
I'm pretty sure I used a 3 x 3 x 6" block of soapstone, and even sawed it in half. The other half.....well I'll upload that later.

My goodness, this has been uploaded for nearly ten years yet it still hasn't received a comment? That's disappointing.
Anyway this, especially for a first timer (with this type of carving), is pretty good. When I first looked at it, I thought it was wood, I'm still struggling to figure out how in the world it's so smooth. You say you did this with soapstone, but it certainly doesn't look like any soap carving I've ever seen. It's just so good.
Overall, I'm pretty impressed, and I love the design/position you carved it into.
